Price: Mahindra retails Scorpio N from Rs 13.26 lakh to Rs 24.54 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India).

Variants: It is available in four broad variants: Z2, Z4, Z6 and Z8.

Colours: Mahindra offers it in seven colours: Deep Forest, Everest White, Napoli Black, Dazzling Silver, Red Rage, Royal Gold and Grand Canyon.

Seating Capacity: The Scorpio N can be had in both 6- and 7-seater configurations.

Engine and transmission: Mahindra offers it with two engine options: a 2.2-litre diesel unit, producing 132 PS/300 Nm or 175 PS/up to 400 Nm, based on the variant chosen; and a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 203 PS/up to 380 Nm.

Both of these engines are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. The more powerful diesel and petrol engines come with a 6-speed automatic gearbox as well. The SUV gets a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) setup as standard, while the 175 PS diesel is also available with the 4-wheel-drive (4WD) option.

Features: It comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, front and rear cameras and wireless phone charging. The SUV also features a 6-way-powered driver seat, single-pane sunroof and semi-digital instrument cluster.

Safety: The safety is ensured by up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-assist control, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and electronic stability control (ESC).

Rivals: The Mahindra Scorpio N takes on the Tata Harrier, Safari and Hyundai Creta/Alcazar. It is also an off-road-capable alternative to the Mahindra XUV700
